Conturbatio sighed heavily, hands in the pockets of his dark suit as he strolled down the deserted street. It was four in the morning. There was no one around this part of town ant that was just as well. He needed to think.
It was getting to be impossible to get around Arthur without the other suspecting that he was up to something. That in it’s self wouldn’t be so bad except that the demon was up to something. Every day the bastard was getting closer to his ultimate goal and every day he seemed to need Conturbatio’s services less and less. It wouldn’t do. He simply couldn’t let the Brit’s plan come to completion.
He growled, kicking at a trashcan as he walked past it, breaking and splintering the wood of the container. He scoffed and continued his walk, shoulders slumped. Arthur was getting closer to summoning Death now… Even worse, he was getting closer to binding the entity. If that happened it was all but over. Arthur wouldn’t have any need for him anymore and he’d be left to his own devices. Alone and trying to find any sort of reprieve on this awful planet.
This was worse than when Arthur had finally managed to break through the dimensional barriers. There had to be some way to stop him… Some way to sabotage his plans… No. That was the problem. He had to be completely innocent in this—at least as far as Abaddon knew. Conturbatio realized if he was to continue with his own plans he would have to find someone else to play the saboteur. Maybe this wouldn’t be too difficult after all… A dangerous grin broke across his features and he picked up his pace, heading back home to put his next scheme into motion.
Loki was bored. Being a god of mischief and chaos and those other things was supposed to mean not getting bored, Loki thought, but he supposed it might be his own fault for being less than mischievous and chaotic lately. He’d just have to make up for that with more good deeds. He could manage that. He ended up online, Craig’s List help wanted ads at least keeping his attention for a brief moment.
He paused at a rather suspicious add about granting wishes, but figured it was probably just some phone scam for morons. Maybe he’d come back to that later if there wasn’t anything else, yawning as he continued to scroll through the pages. A dark brow quirked at another strange request—and this one wasn’t a misplaced personal add. Magical knowledge? The godling pursed his lips before picking up his phone to text the number for details.
After a few exchanged messages a meeting was set. The other seemed to know what they were doing—which begged to question why they were looking for assistance specifically, and furthermore why they were doing it over the Internet. Loki certainly wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to find out regardless, and hopefully he was going to get the chance to help someone as well.
